Abstract: This paper took into consideration contribution of rural women to agricultural and government initiation measures to improve their status by improving their skill through training. Two pilot projects were carried out with the objective to raise family income through rural women's activities, to train village leaders and to introduce new nutritional habits. In order to accomplish these aims, two approaches had been taken, one was poultry raising and the other was cultivation. Four villages on the western side of the White Nile were selected; women were trained on land preparation, sowing seeds, irrigation, fertilizing crops, rotation and harvesting. This was supplemented with courses on nutrition, cooking, food preservation, and general family health. Women were also trained in proper poultry raising given veterinary services
