Title: Constitutive Laws For Expansive Soils
Author: Elarabi, Hussien
Abstract: The theme of this study is the development of a mechanical model to simulate the behaviour of expansive soil under water ingress with time. A constitutive model to describe viscoplastic or time dependent behaviour of expansive soils is developed. This law is adjusted to experimental data carried out in expansive soil areas. The model takes into account the current stress, water content and clay content as well as environmental factors.
