dc.description.abstract A general closed form expression of radi ated electromagnetic far-fields for symmetrical polygon loops including circular loop with uniform current distribution is introduced in this paper . This new formulation can be used to analyze many loops of constant current in unified approach. The classical known far field expressions for square l oop and circular loop can be obtained here as a limiting cases of this general expression. Th is unified approach is applied to investigate the radiation pattern , radiation resistance, and directivity of the thin wire polygon loop antennas with number of sides 4, 6, 10, 16, and ∞ (circular loop), for different loop sizes. The investigation shows that the loops with perimeters λ 2 . 0 < S have approximately the sa me behaviour regarding the far field parameters. Generally, the behavi our of all polygon loops converges to that of the circular loop as the number of sides N increase. en_US
