Abstract: This study conducted at Jabal Awlyia locality interval December 2006-2007, the study population was head masters of primary schools, samples involving ninety seven schools selected randomly. Information was collected by questionnaire, interview, group discussion and observation. The study aimed to assess school sanitation so as assessing latrines design and function in primary schools ,the majority of school have latrines but not according standard ,(11%) of schools in Jabal Awlyia locality owns latrines , Pupils behavior towards latrines is bad (46.4%), 80.4%of pupils use latrines, (4.1%) of them do not use latrines because is not clean. The study reflected the solid waste collocation (91.1%), so storage of solid waste (91.8%),transport as71.8% ,final disposal inside schools by air burning amount to (48%) of schools. Ground water is the main source of water supply in schools , (76.3%) of schools are connected to network,(11.3%) served with water vendors, latrines distance from drinking water (by water source) more than 20 meter (82.5). The main recommendation was collaborative effort between health authority and ministry of general education should be made in tackling the schools health problem and Provide all schools with sustainable water supply system & facility for drinking water.
