Abstract: Malnutrition is still a major problem in many developing countries particularly in Sudan and Africa in general. It is estimated by the UNICEF that 47 million of under five years children were stunted which is a form of malnutrition in the sub-Saharan Africa. Whereas, in the Eastern and Southern Africa 24 million of the under five years children were stunted. A descriptive cross-sectional, community-based study using cluster sampling among children under 15 years old. Umbadda locality at Dar El Salam District, Sudan. Sampling was during 15 March 2012 up to 15 April 2012. To measure the prevalence of malnutrition in the three forms; wasting, stunting and underweight, (severe and moderate for each type) and to identify the socio-economic and demographic characteristic of households at the study.
