dc.description.abstract Caprine brucellosis (caused by Brucella melitensis) is serious disease which causes economic losses in goats and a serious human illness if transmitted to man. Serological tests on caprine brucellosis were carried out to determine the prevalence of the disease in goats in Omdurman area. A total of 164 samples of sera and 138 samples of milk were examined. The samples were collected from different localities in Omdurman area. Three serological test (RBPT) Rose Bengal Plate Test (CTAT) Capillary Tube Agglutination Test and the agar gel precipitation test were carried out. The results showed that the rate of positive reactors was (16.57%) by RBPT and CTAT. A much lower percent of positive reactors (9.28%) was obtained with milk ring test. en_US
