Abstract
An investigation to evaluate field losses and establish performance parameters for minimum losses of a Commercial groundnut digger shaker was carried out for two seasons. Two varieties were used and the mechanical harvest losses were categorized into digging, shaking and their total. The effect of the soil moisture content, tractor forward speed and variety on harvest losses has been studied as well as their interactions. Prediction models and coefficients of correlations have been established for the threes types of losses. Adjustments for optimum performance of the digger-shaker are discussed and recommendations for further research are proposed.
