The Role of Revolving Funds in Microfinance Institution Acase Study: Bara and Umruwaba Localities ln North Kordofan State- Sudan

This study was conducted in North Kordofan State. The study covered both Um Ruwaba and Bara localities (NKRDP area) during October 2006 – March2007 . The main objective of the study is to investigate the role of sundogs as sustainable microfinance institutions in project area comunities towards poverty impact and poverty reduction and increase the households income and saving. The study based on both primary and secondary data. The primary data was collected from the villages through constructed questionnaires which will compled with 100 households in difference 10 villages by direct interviews. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select 100 households as asample size. NKRDP was the main source of secondary data as the institutional sources, references and previous studies. The study used SPSS programme for descriptive statistics and data analysis and t-test. The results showed the increasing of household incomes after the project as well as in the livestock and trade and handcraft. The results have also explained the decrease of household expenditure on health services and education.the results have showned positive role of credit to households in project area villages by 74% . also increase the wareness of healthy and invironmental services in villages. The study had also shown an increase in the gender wareness by 90%. Finally, the study recommended the establishment of credit system by microfinance that can be developed for an effective integrated pest management system to creat acompletely rural development.
