Abstract
In this work an experiment using (He-Ne) laser as a tool is used for nondestructive test for mango fruits (municipal) by measuring the reflectivity from the outer skin of the mango(Mangifer indica municipal Variety). Mango fruits of the same species for a different two farms were used in measuring the reflectivity of the laser from the mango skin. The measurement was taken for eight days for the two groups of the mango(Mangifer indica municipal Variety). One of the groups was kept at room temperature and the other was kept in a fridge. The results show that in both cases, the fruit spoiled after eight days but the one kept in the fridge shows better results. The results also shows that the mango fruits from the both farms reach their higher reflectivity on the third day i.e. higher reflectivity and the mango becomes smoother on that day in accordance with the literature findings. There are no significant differences in the results between the samples from the two farms. The technique used is a very powerful in nondestructive treatment for classifying different fruits without any changes the fruit content.
