Abstract
This research aims to know to what extent does the method of problem solving effects on the studying acquisition for the students in first secondary school year in History subject. The researcher has followed the experimental and descriptive method and used pre and post collectively test. At the end of the experiment she analyzed and discussed the results and has reached the following outputs: 1. There are some clear auction statistical differences in study acquisition among students who study by using the method of problem solving in History subject and those who follow the traditional way. 2. Students prefer to use the system of problem solving in teaching History and they are very active during the period. 3. Using the way of problem solving in teaching History helps in the following: (a) enables students to understand the presented teaching material. (b) makes the students love the scientific subject and therefore, they will be able to form positive tends towards History subject. (c) helps to understand and recover the teaching material better than the traditional method. (d) raises the spirit of co-operation and participation among students. (e) activates in them the spirit of research, exploration, following-up, analysis and conclusion. (f) helps the students to depend on themselves and bear responsibility, thus they will be able to face their everyday problems. (g) stabilizes the subject in student's mind as they reach the result by themselves. (h) helps self-teaching and love of discovery. (i) encourages them to use different sources and references for education or teaching without depending on the subject curriculum only.
