Abstract

The research studies the issue of American hegemony on the decisions of the International Security council about the Arab region. It explains how USA reached this level of hegemony over the whole world, after the end of the cold war, USA impose aunipolar order through which it controls world issues according to its own vision and interests; it interferes to subdue the international community via supplying more and more financial contributions and military support. By that USA possesses the international legitimacy with which it hides its real intentions and targets towards various countries without any legal or legitimate justification. The study adopted the descriptive, historical and analytical approaches. It describes the history of events, which occurred before and after the cold war. The study applied the analytical approach to detect the causes behind the politics adopted by USA towards Arab region and its countries. Depending on that analysis, the study found out that the Arab region; with respect to its unique location as across road for three continents including the most important water passages; in addition to the natural wealth like oil. It is also the place where holy centers of the three major religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) are located. All these characteristics make it obvious that any international power will not miss the chance to impose its control upon such region, the contrary; it will do its best to have such a control. But the unawareness of the real weight of this region and complete negligence of shared Arab factors, deepened the gaps between Arab countries and that made it difficult to achieve any kind of unification between Arab countries leaving the path for foreign interfere ness and hegemony imposing a kind of hidden guardianship.
