Abstract
This study was conducted in the Demonstration Farm, Faculty of Agriculture (Shambat), University of Khartoum, in season 2007/2008, to evaluate the efficiency of two fungicides in controlling powdery mildew disease in squash (Cucurbite pepo L.) plant variety Eskandrani. These were, Thiovit, a contact fungicide, and Tillet, a systemic one, and their efficiency was assessed in terms of disease incidence, disease severity and yield. The application of Tillet in combination with Thiovit resulted in the lowest disease incidence of 48.43%. The highest disease incidence of 84.45% was recorded when Tillet was used alone. The combination of Tillet and Thiovit also resulted in the lowest disease severity (22.87%). The highest disease severity of 40.14% was recorded when Thiovit was used alone. The application of Tillet and Thiovit in a combination resulted in the highest yield of 3775.103 ka/ha. The lowest yield of 1564.175 ka/ha was obtained when Tillet was used alone
