Abstract
The fractional calculus is used to derive the Schrödinger equation. Several properties of the fractional Schrödinger equation have been studied. A new equation for the fractional probability current density was found and discussed. Physical applications of the fractional Schrödinger equation related to the energy spectrum for a hydrogen-like atom- fractional and the energy spectrum of fractional oscillator in the semi- classical approximation are found.The relationships between the fractional and thestandard Schrödinger equation are discussed.
