Abstract
This study was directed to isolate and identify myocardial from soil samples collected from Khartoum State. Laboratory investigations were done on soil collected from 30 sites representing Khartoum State. The study ensures the presence of myocardial in Khal10um State. Four species have been isolated namely: Myocardial-like organism (78%), N, asteroides (12.7%), N, brasiliensis (5.5%) and N. otillaiscaviarzlm (3,6%). Nocardiae were isolated from all sites except sites (Kober and Alhitana). The result indicated that soil can be considered as reservoir of Nocardia spp. Out of three different media tested, Tryptic Soy Agar (T.S.A) supplemented with tetracycline (5 µg/ml), and nystatine (50 µg/ml) was found to be a suitable medium for the selective isolation of Nocardia spp. from soil
