were X- irradiated in the range of temperature . Various l.4-benzo[b] thiazine (2) single Single crystal of 1.4-benzo[b]thiazine Glutarimide Lithium acetate and acetic acid crystals have been irradiated at room temperature. In all crystals investigated the benzothiazinyl radical - component of the intermediate radical pair in the rearrangement / dealkylation process (2- 4) has been detected. In the case of n-pentyl and n-propyl the formation of the radical pair could be fairly detected with a pair separation estimated the be . The Glutarimide single crystals have been X- irradiated and measured in the temperature range 4,2-290 K. The principle hyperfine couplings and the g-values for the different radicals were obtained. The x-proton dipolar components of the observed alkyl radicals I & II are compared with those calculated from the two center dipole model. The possibility}' that the Glutarimide molecule undergo ring opening to form the Glutarimidyl radical was also examined. Single crystals of completely and partially deuterated acetic acid, and Lithium acetate have been irradiated with X-rays and investigated with ESR with X and Q bands with the purpose identity the radicals formed from the thermal fragmentation the primary anion radical CD, CO was identified as a radical product in the decay of CD COOD in CD2COOD and CO2- in the -decay of, CD3COO2- in CD, COOLi.2D2O. CD, CO was also observed in the Q-band spectra of irradiated crystals of CH3COOD
