Abstract
his Study endeavors to know the point of views of the Sudanese civil servants in both the public and private sectors in relation to job satisfaction or dissatisfaction through scanning their views on the job – satisfaction / dissatisfaction topic. The questionnaire has been distributed to (100) staff members from both the public and private sectors to air their views. To attain this goal the researcher used Likert’s five – grade scale. Grade (1) represents the direction in its minimum status, while Grade (6) represents the direction in its maximum status. Accordingly information has been collected from the sample of the study using the statistical package for social sciences (spss) analytical scheme. The findings of the study have indicated the existence of contracts of a statisticcal nature on the average satisfaction in both the public and private sectors in favour of the private sector in the most of the spheres of job – satisfaction. The findings of the study have also indicated that the continuous factors of work relations achieve job – satisfaction in both sectors. In relation to the fields of job – satisfaction with the personal variables of the individuals of the study sample, the finding indicated the presence of a positive link relation for all the spheres of job – satisfaction together with the personal variables in the public sector except the emolument and scientific qualification variables. The findings have indicated the presence of a positive link relation in the fields of job – satisfaction together with the personal variables excpt the variable of qualification. The findings have indicated the most important variables which indicate job satisfaction in the public sector were: job condition, job evaluation. While the feeling of confidence from the leaders, and the relations between employees and leaders, were the most important variables in the private sector. Finally the study has concluded a number of recommendations, most prominent of which are: 1- The work organization should draw up a periodcal questionnaire to cover the entire workforce to assess their impressions, indications, desires and thair views on the standard of job – satisfaction / dissatisfaction. 2- Revising the salary – emoluments – gratuity – motivation and allowances policy in order to satisfy the basic needs of employees
