Abstract

The study targeted to assess the role of information in rationalization of the decisions, through knowing the efficiency of information of information systems in Sudanese Secretary General of Ministers, by emphasizing the relationship between the information systems and the effectiveness of decisions, the using machine, programming, information systems staff, the services which develop by the information system. The researcher had demonstrated his assumptions that, there is a positive relation between the efficiency of the information system and the effectiveness of the decision. The second assumption is that, the modern administrative information system distinguished by secret and accuracy in data registration, also it helps in unifying the administrative work procedures. In addition to that, there is a positive relation between the information system and the participation of low administrative levels in the decision making. Lastly, the revision and the assessment of the decision it depend on information systems. The researcher uses the descriptive analytical method that mainly depends on primary sources, questionnaire and interviews. Also secondary sources were used, references, reports and notes. The study consists of three chapters, chapter one is about the general concepts of administrative information systems and the concept of decision making, the concept of electronic government. Chapter two handles the establishment and the evolution of the Sudanese Secretary General of Ministers and description of its different administrations and the techniques that are using. Chapter three deals with the discussion and analysis of data that led the researcher with the following results: • The information systems in the Secretary General of Ministers is characterized by high standard and efficiency in decision–making this will help in information adaptation that affected the degree of decision rationalization, also through the information system the administration that uses the computer will be able to laying suitable bases for the implementation of goals and policies, follow up and evaluation. The research came to the following recommendations: • The necessity of review of the adopted administrative methods in the Secretary General and ways of solving problems. • Creation of new means through which the low administrative levels can contribute in the process of decision-making.
