Abstract

The study dealt with the issue of the Arab economic integration as regards the approaches through which the Arab states can achieve economic integration among them so as to reach the stage of political unity. The study reviewed the efforts exerted for realizing the Arab integration whether through the Arab League or the other attempts or problems faced it. The study, then, discussed the issue of the joint Arab projects, their history, reality and role in the process of the Arab economic integration, besides the most important problems that hinder its work, with stress on that by taking a sample of these projects and studying them-in some details- which is the Arab Corporation for Investment and Agricultural Development. The study adopted the historical descriptive as well as the analytical method by showing the experience of integration that has already been made and analyzing them. In obtaining information, the researcher consulted a group of books, periodicals, reports and scientific research, in addition to the Internet. The study reached the fact that the approach of the joint Arab projects is the most appropriate one that could be depended upon, particularly with the failure of the other experiences, stressing that this experience (in the field of projects) is still immature and suffering from a number of problems the most prominent of them is the lack of the strategic viewpoint when preparing a project, in addition to the weakness of the infrastructures that contribute to the success of these projects.
