Abstract

This study tries to investigate level of depression disorder among infected and "ALDS" patients in Khartoum State. The study also tries to investigate the statistical relationship between with some demographic variables such as gender, age educational level, way of infection and period of infection. Descriptive method was applied to achieve the objectives of the study. Sample consist of (120) infected and ALDS patients (72) male (48) female. Simple random sampling selection was applied by the researcher to collect the data of study. Data manipulated by using statistical package for social (SPSS) by applying (T) test and person Correlation Coefficient and One Way Analysis of variance (ANOVA). The most important results of the present study can be summarized in the following points. The level of depression among infected and "AIDS" patient is statistically below average. There is significant statistical no difference in depression among AIDS patients according to gender (Male, female) in favor of male. There is a significant negative correlation coefficient between levels of depression with age of patients. There is a significant difference in depression according to level of education of patients. There is a significant difference in depression according to way of infection among patients in favor of infection through the mother. There is no significant correlation coefficient between levels of depression with period of infection among "AIDS" patients. Finally, recommendations and suggestions for further studies, and references were cited at the end of the study.
