Abstract
This study aims to highlight the humanitarian side of the phenomenon of alienation and nostalgia in the emigrative poetry, and lays the foundations to it to become a poetic purpose added to the poetry topics and meanings, as well as reviewing the emigrative poetry from a contemporary perspective not segregated from its traditional succession. The approach of this study is the integrative approach. The approach combines history, description, and analysis. When the subject is more closely related to the personal side, we used the psychological and philosophical analysis in a way that does not make the study diverge from the literary framework. This study has come to several findings, the most distinct of them are: • Emigrative poets in their spatial and social alienation, their nostalgia to the place and man, were harmonized with the meanings of alienation. This harmony is typical to the meaning of nostalgia and alienation as defined in dictionaries. Moreover, emigrative poets don’t differ from the ancient poets. • That the phenomenon of alienation and nostalgia of emigrative poets took a profound psychological, and philosophical distinctive quality represented in the psychological alienation, alienation of self and spirit, existential alienation, and nostalgia for the world of ideals and immortality. • That the concept of alienation and nostalgia in emigrative poetry has been expanded and varied in its fields and types, and it has become a poetic purpose that reflects the poet's own experience. • That the emigrative poets in their alienation and nostalgia have versified their poetry in all its meters (literary seas), but they were more likely to use the short or the Mujtathth (brachycatalectic) meters (literary seas). • The alienation and nostalgic poem in the poetry of the emigrative poets is an artwork that reflects their romantic tendencies, because it is made up of coherent and partial pictures. Its chief element is the landscape that shapes the source of the embodiment of their ideas, emotions and their fecund imagination
