Abstract
This research aimed to measure the degree of indigenization in psychology of giftedness and talent in Arab World. To achieve this aim the researcher used content analysis as a method and instrument. The research population included all studies of talent and giftedness from peer reviewed periodicals, and conferences in the Arab world (2000-2009). (70) Studies were selected randomly, frequencies and percentages were used to analyze the data statistically. The research showed that: the most studied subjects were the behavioral characteristics and personality traits (20.7%) and most of the researchers have used descriptive methods (80%) and most of the sample sizes were small "less than one hundred" (47.1%); (72.9%) of the members of the sample were male and female, and the primary school participants represented the highest percent (27.1%); the researchers focused on the use of facial validity (55.9%) and used the internal consistency to determine the reliability (40%); both averages and "t" test represented the highest rate (17.6%). The research revealed that the reliance on books (48,8%), periodicals (29.9%), theses (12,4%), conferences (3, 7%), reports, seminars and files (2,9%) and websites (2,3%). Concerning modernity of references, the period (1991 - 2009) represented the highest rates of recent sources with overall percent of (41,7%) and (41,6%) respectively. The findings revealed low degree of cultural sensitivity in the use of measurements (20%); with an increase in validity and reliability degrees (81,4%) and (80%) respectively, and usually foreign measurements used with its' standardizations (31,4%), and used students' samples (81.4%). The degree of cultural sensitivity in using Arab sources (22.9%), and (20, 5%) in the discussion of results; and the percent of the international collective goals (68,5%), with no mention of indigenization in (72,9%), and no cross-cultural debate (71,4%), and lack of holistic treatment (64.3%), and absence of criticism of West concepts and methods (94.3%). Finally, the research revealed general decrease in the degree of culture sensitivity in the psychology of talent and giftedness in the Arab World
