Abstract
This study was carried out to determine the bacterial
load of raw milk from domestic goats in Alsahafa Area in
the State of Khartoum.
The hygienic condition under which the raw goat milk
was procured was also studied.
From Alsahafa area 40 goat milk samples were
collected to achieve the objective of the studies.
The objectives of the Study were:
To obtain information about the Bacterial load and the
presence of the pathogenic bacteria of the Coliforms and the
genera Brucella, Staphylococcus and Streptococcus in goat
milk .
The total microscopic count reported ranged between
7.8 x 105 to 3.81 x106 cell/ml.
Results achieved are indicating that raw goats milk is
hazardous for the consumers when consumed as raw milk .
Hygiene control measures are needed during handling
and treatment of the milk collected from goats for human
consumption.
