Abstract

This study deals with the explanation and analysis of “Sohool El khair” program in Khartoum State television . It is intended to measure the efficiency of the program and to what extend it influences the farmers ، The study area choosen is Elfaki Hashim , North of Khartoum . The main objective of study is to identify farmers’ opinions and views towards the program and to what extend it plays its role in transferring and diffusing the new advanced developmental knowledge and ideas in agriculture . Data for the purpose of the study is obtained from the primary sources , mainly the Questionnaire which was randomly distributed among the farmers in the study area further information were obtained from secondary sources such as references and seminars. The study used the descriptive and anatytical approach together with statistical one . The main findings of the study are : - A considerable perecent (59,7 % ) 0f the farmers recoded presence as attentive audiences of the program – About 46,8 % think that program time is quite reasonable while 58% assured that program language is simple and under stand able . - 59,6% of the farmers have applied the opinions recommended based on the program . - Concerning sources of knowledge , farmers depends mainly on the Agricultural guide as a principal source while the program comes as a second priority . - The importance of the program arises from the fact that it helps in transmitting agricultural techniques and applying them ; in addition to provision of farming needs as well as contributing in solving agricultural problems . Based on these results the study concludes with some important recommendations : - - Intensifying field trips by agricultural programmers working in Khartoum T.V, for better under s standing of agricultural problems and farmers’ needs . - Excreting more efforts for making a mechanism for creating good relationship with farmers . - Carrying out field researchs for evaluationing agricultural programs performance, and to see farmers response towards these programs . - Increasing program time for more agricultural services . - Constructing cenima clubs for helping El shab agricultural scheme farmers in addition to assuring feed back process .
