dc.description.abstract Post-kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL) commonly occurs after treatment of visceral leishmaniasis, in particular in the Sudan. Patients with PKDL often present at the village level and therefore all cadres of health workers should have a working knowledge to adequately diagnose and manage PKDL patients. To achieve this a basic understanding of the epidemiology and pathophysiology is needed including the underlying immune responses. en_US
