Abstract
A number of cyclohexenone derivatives have been prepared through addition of R06;chalcones to ethyl acetoacetate.R06; Chalcones were initially reacted with ethyl ^6;-methoxycrotonate ester under R06;phase transfer catalysis (PTC) conditions. Tetrabutyl ammonium iodide was used R06;as phase transfer catalyst, 50% sodium hydroxide as an aqueous phase, and R06;toluene was served as an organic phase.R06; Reactions of the same chalcones with ethyl acetoacetate under PTC conditions R06;were carried out, in this case tetrabutyl ammoniumhydrogen sulphate was used R06;as PTC catalyst, 10 % sodium hydroxide as an aqueous phase, and toluene as R06;an organic phase.R06; Reaction products were intensively investigated using various spectroscopic R06;techniques; all results were in agreement with the proposed structure and R06;confirmed the cyclohexenone compounds.
