Abstract
This treatise tackles the grammatical evidential quotations in the two Surats (chapters) of Al-Baqarah (the Cow) and Al-‘imran, as in the manners of recitation (Ahruf) of Ibn ‘Amir as narrated and reported by the authority Imam: Ibn Mujahid. Such accurate and genius work of this Imam is not limited to such two Surats, but is applied to the whole chapters of the Quran, with all of the rest of the famous seven imams of the Quran manners of reading or (Qira’at). The subsequent scholars of such Qira’at have followed his example or imitated him in the establishment and clarification of such qira’at. The study has reached a very important result. It is that such differences in writing, letter addition or omission, derivation, usages of verbs, morphology, syntax, etc… are mainly attributed to some reasons, the important of which are three: 1. The way in which Uthmani copy of Quran was written as to vowels and dotting. 2. The diversity of the sources (the Prophet’s companions) from which Quran readings were taken, where some Syrian Quran readers would conjugate or join the hearing from their authorities and copying form Uthmani Copy of the Quran. 3. The difference between the languages and dialects of the tribes, where some of the Syrian Tabi‘een (The generation of the scholars followed that of the Prophet’s companions) used to read some locations in the Quran in the same way as they pronounce them in their own language or dialect.
