Abstract
PIH is a life threatening complication of pregnancy characterized by high blood pressure and proteinuria. It occurs in about 3% of all pregnancies. The pathogenesis of PIH is not fully understood but several markers have been mentioned in the literature as aetiological factors and as markers for disease severity. D-Dimer is one of these markers and it is an end product of fibrinolysis which occurs in PIH.
