Abstract
This study deals with the foreign policy of the United States of America and the developments that took place after the events of the september, 11. The study reviews the definition of foreign policy in addition to the institutions and its role in making the foreign policy. Also the study analyses American foreign policy and the legal and resolutional principles on which it is based and the role of the major institutions in designing and forming the American foreign policy according to the specific goals and interests of the United States. Also the study sheds light on the religious aspect in the political life and its effect on American foreign policy. The study also considers the new features of the world system especially after the events of spetember 11 and its effect on changing the goals and the track of the American foreign policy towards the world, that policy which found in terroism an alternative to communism in threatening the security and interests of the United State. That sanctions the forms of interfering and hostility for the American policy, claiming that it is due to the maintenance of the national American interests and the prevention of renewing wars and defending, democracy, human rights and punish the the states that threatens international peace and security that as and extent to the expansion approach in (Afghanistan and the Arab Gulf) and the American interference to take on the regional security tasks by the direct military existence to ensure the oil flow and protect the American interests
