Abstract
Enzymes containing two metal ions in close proximity (3-5 ? ) with
bridging ligand(s) in the active site, known as a dinuclear
metalloenzymes, catalyze a wide range of chemical reactions in nature,
including hydrolytic cleavage the C-N bond of urea and guanidine, the
N-terminal peptide bond of proteins, and the hydrolysis of phosphates
esters. It is well documented that hydroxamic acids reversibly inhibit a
number of these hydrolases reactions of metalloenzymes
