dc.description.abstract Friction is the worst enemy of machinery. Co mbustion engine fricti on and wear on moving parts, flaking of bearings and cylinder scuff cau se a reduced life of engines. In the present investigation a model has been built, for the first time at Sudan University of Science and Technology / College of Engineering, to measur e wear characteristics in twin crankshaft engine which considered as one of the solutio ns to reduce friction in engine cylinders. The model was manufactured considering the sa me design equations used for conventional engines. Preliminarily tests show ed that the engine is capable to carry out tests to study wear characteristics in internal combustion engines. en_US
